Amazon and Google are in a race to make human DNA data accessible through cloud computing resources. These databases will allow scientists and doctors to access genomic data more quickly and at a lower cost; in addition, the databases will be able to analyze data effectively to pick out DNA variants that predict risk for certain diseases, among other important insights.
